Welcome to Villa Meli-Zachari

Accommodation

Villa Meli-Zachari is let fully furnished and equipped, including crockery, cutlery, bed and bath linen sufficient for the number of people indicated in the Booking Form, but excluding beach towels. Fresh linens and towels are provided weekly. Fuel for lighting, cooking, refrigeration and hot water is included in the rental price.

Booking & Payment

Upon confirmation of availability we will require 30% of the holiday cost and a completed booking form. The payment confirms and ensures your reservation. The remaining 70% must be paid 8 weeks before the day of your arrival at the Villa. If the reservation is made within 8 weeks of the arrival day, reservation can be made by payment of rent in full. Confirmation will be sent by email after receipt of the booking form -completed and signed- and the deposit of the rental charge.

Cancellation policy

Cancellations or changes must be received by email (zackpap@icloud.com)
and be from the person named on the booking form.
The effective date of cancellation is the date on which written notification
is received by the Property Owner of the holiday villa in Crete.
•If the Guest cancels 8 weeks or more before arrival, a 70% of the holiday cost will be refunded.
•If the Guest cancels within 8 weeks prior to arrival, a 50% of the holiday will be refunded.
•If the Guest cancels within 4 weeks prior to arrival, the holiday cost will not be refunded.

Arrival and departure

Normal arrival time is between 16.00 and 20.00 so, we can welcome you to the home and be sure that the home is ready for you. Departure time is before 10.00.
Care of property
You are responsible for ensuring that the property is left in same condition of clearness and repair as upon arrival. This also applies to garden and outdoor furniture.

Water and electricity

The property is not typical villa built for tourist purposes. It is an country stone house, renovated in full accordance with the typical local ancient techniques. For this reason, we would recommend a moderate water usage and electricity.

Internet

The property has high speed Internet connection. However, occasional failure connection means no Internet availability in the local area and immediate assistance is not offered. For this reason we suggest to those who need to consult their emails regularly, to bring their BlackBerries or other similar devices.

Cretan Wildlife

Please note that our villa is located in rural area, where wildlife such as animals and insects are as natural a part of the landscape. It would not be particularly unusual to encounter animals such as rodents, cats goats or insects such as wasps, bees, flies,ants,or scorpions and spiders.Please note that Villa Meli-Zachari cannot be held accountable for the presence of animals or insects .

• The villa owner cannot be held responsible for the theft of any personal belongings whilst on holiday. Guests are advised to close all doors and windows when leaving the property. We bear no responsibility for property loss.

The Crete region

Crete is place with a very distinct tradition: it has its own local customs, culture, food and dialect. By visiting Crete you will have the chance to discover contemporary life but also the rich history of the island from the prehistoric times to medieval ages.

Come to Crete to get a taste of local foods and fruits and a sip of Cretan tsikoudia. You will be initiated to their healthy way of life which has offered them longevity. 

Chania / Inachorio area

Perivolia is located ” into the wild”. The European hiking path E4 passes through Perivolia and leads you directly to Elafonisi. On the way you are able to enjoy the Cretan scenery which ranges from olive trees, chestnut trees to sea-beaten rocks. In Perivolia you can indulge in bird watching of the rare protected species of the gier-eagle.

In the village there are 2 “Kafenia”-traditional meeting points of the locals- where you can taste home-made dishes and local wine. You will also find more taverns and mini-markets in the nearby villages of Kefali and Elos which also has a gas-station.

Finally, you will have the opportunity to participate in local festivities and to get a glimpse of Cretan folklore that is still “alive and kicking” in this small and peaceful village. You can also visit the folklore museum of the village. 

How to get there:

Perivolia is a traditional small village only 12 km from the amazing and sandy  beach of Elafonisi which is considered to be one of the finest destinations in Crete. It is also 20 km far from Kissamos and 52km from Chania in the south west of Crete.
Ryanair, Aegean Airlines, Anek lines (ferries) travel to Chania. There are two buses every day from Chania and Kissamos to Elafonisi stopping at Perivolia.
